Snill gutt 2022

In the video installation Snill gutt, Pål Lersveen delves into the exploration of memory, vulnerability, and the ambiguity of identity. The work originates from a phrase he has never fully grasped the meaning of, driving a desire to create a spatial presence of these words. Through the projection of this phrase directly onto the wall, the installation captures the delicate tension between language and its interpretation.

The piece unfolds as an endless loop, devoid of resolution, reflecting Lersveen’s interest in repetition and how meaning shifts with the addition or subtraction of words. By interrupting the construction of the sentence, Snill gutt invites viewers to contemplate how narratives are shaped, distorted, and given new dimensions.
